We have had QUite an exciting week in anticipation of the WEDDING of Qq and Uu!  We learned this week that "You never see Q without a U in a word!"  Today we had a wedding to unite the two letters that will stay together forever in LETTER LAND!!  It was UN-QUESTIONABLE fun!

Then it was time for the reception with "quackers", cookies and juice.............

and then many agreed that  dancing was the favorite part of the day!

We will never forget the day Qq and Uu got married and we will never forget "you never see Qq without a Uu in a word"!!

Frog and Toad Field Trip!

  (We loved singing the amphibian song this week!)

We have had a great week learning about frogs, toads and other amphibians.  We ended our great week with a field trip to the Scottish Rite Theater in Austin to see a live performance of  "Frog and Toad".  It was fun to see the stories that we read in class come alive on stage.  After the play we had a picnic and playtime at the park.  It was a TOAD-ally awesome day.

May is Here!

Week of May 19-23   Book Fair

Friday, May 23rd -PE Splash Day!  Parents are welcome to join us.  Please send your child with sun block on. We will be outside most of the day.

Monday, May 26^th –Game Day  Bring a board game, card game etc.  You may also bring coloring books and crayons.  No electronics please.

Tuesday, May 27^th- Graduation Ceremonies@ 9:40 am Cookies and punch reception following in our classroom. Children may leave after our reception!

Wednesday, May 28^th- SLUMBER PARTY

-We will have a "pretend" slumber party (during the day).  We will spend the day watching movies, playing games and eating treats.  Children may wear pajamas (an oversized T-shirt and shorts makes a good substitute) and bring their sleeping bag if they wish.  If they would like to bring a snack for themselves that day…that would be great!    

Thursday, May 29^th- Outside Play day………Bring something fun to play outside. Good items might be hula hoops, jump rope, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, balls, etc.

FRIDAY, May 30th  LAST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN! -Early Release!

WE LOOK FORWARD TO THESE FUN DAYS AS WE CELEBRATE ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE ACCOMPLISHED IN KINDERGARTEN!

Remember our May 2nd Field Trip!

This Friday, May 2^nd, is our field trip to The Scottish Rite Theater (207 W. 18^th st) in Austin followed by a picnic playtime at Mary Moore Searight Park (907 Slaughter Lane, Austin).  We will leave Carver Kindergarten at 8:30 AM and return about 2:30 PM.  If you plan to attend the field trip, please meet us at the theater.  The cost of the play is $9.00 payable at the theater when you arrive.  The play should last 45 minutes to one hour.

If you indicated on the permission slip that your child will be bringing a sack lunch from home, please put it in a large ziplock bag with your child’s name written on the bag.  Please also send a drink (with your child’s name on it) which has a screw-on lid.

Only 20 Days Until Graduation!

It hardly seems like it can be true, but it is! We only have 20 more days of Kindergarten until we graduate on May 27th at 9:40am.  Mark your calendars, you won't want to miss this special day. 

 We are going to enjoy our last days of Kindergarten ....

with our friends....

  as we celebrate .....

 all of the things we have learned.........

 and all of the fun we have had!
