Rainbow Day!

We have had great fun reviewing colors and learning to read color words!  It has been fun to sing about colors and see our friends all dressed in the color of the day!  Today was RAINBOW day and it was a colorful-fantastic day!  We began our day with a rainbow song and video.  We were amazed to actually see why we can find a rainbow in the sky.  We learned that sunlight(or white light) is made up of all of the colors.  When that light goes through a raindrop (or prism) it breaks up that sunlight and makes a rainbow! WOW!
We made "pretend" rainbow pops.  We had to get the colors in the right rainbow order!
Red is always at the top and purple is always at the bottom of the rainbow.

Then we were able to make our very own COLOR cookie to eat.  We had to listen and follow directions to get it just right!
First we measured two scoops of  "magic" powder.
Then we added a spoonful of water....
and stirred....
and stirred, until it was just right!
Then we added food coloring to make it any color of the rainbow we wanted.
We could mix colors like blue and red to make purple!
Next we stirred ......
and stirred some more until it was ready!

 Then we iced our cookie.....
and iced.....
 until it was just perfect!
Finally it was time to eat it!
Yummy!  This is good!
 Delicious....
....down to the last drop!
