Hear ye! Hear ye! Ladies and Gentlemen! Today we crowned our first King and Queen of the school year! That would be, we crowned our first SENTENCE queen and king of the school year. Each morning the leaders have a chance to share their news. At the beginning of the year we draw a picture to illustrate their news. We then move to writing a word to go with their news and then Mrs. Daily has been writing a sentence about our leaders' news. Now we get a chance to write our own SENTENCE! We have learned that a sentence has to "clear" the three checkpoints to be a great sentence. If we are able to write a sentence using all three we are declared king or queen for the day! Hooray!
Great Sentences:
-begin with a capital letter
-have spaces in between the words
-end with a period or other punctuation mark
Hooray to Lizze and Junior for writing great sentences on the board this morning!
