We Learn About Plants!

We are anxiously awaiting our first sprouts to appear!  We are learning about plants this week.  So far we have learned that all plants come from seeds.  We were surprised to see how seeds are spread and how they   sometimes become a plant and sometimes not!  We learned plants need food, water, sun and air to survive.  Today we planted a bean seed and we are anxiously waiting for it to grow!  We must take good care of it.

First we had to make sure to get the right amount of soil.

 Our soil is ready for planting.

 Then we had to be sure we planted our seed.

 

And added just the right amount of water.

Next we placed it in our windowsill to get sunlight! 

 We will observe and record what is happening each day!

We can not wait to see when it will grow!

During reading time, we had fun pretending we were  insects as we moved to music to visit the flowers!

 There were bees, butterflies, and caterpillars!

 When the music stopped we had to read our  flower word to Mrs. Daily and then the music started all over again!
